Objectives of the CMA (ICWAI) practical training

  •     To develop among the students the necessary skills to apply the theoretical knowledge of management accounting and costs to practical situations in different professional fields.
  •     Exposure to environments under which different organizations work.
  •     Provide professional experience in the practical aspects of cost accounting and management.
  •     Develop a disciplined attitude for a professional.
  •     Awareness of ethical values ​​in professional work.


Who should attend CMA practical training


All students enrolled under the revised Syllabus 2008 / Syllabus 2012 must undergo practical training for a period of 3 years on a full-time basis to the satisfaction of the board in one or more of the organizations specified in Annex A and in the fields As Annex B for the recognition of training.
However, students to be eligible to apply to the final exam must
Completion of at least 6 months of practical training in one or more of the organizations specified in Annex A and in the areas specified in Annex B;

(Or);
Must have at least 6 months' experience in one or more of the organizations specified in Annex A and in the areas specified in Annex B,
Exemption from practical training

A student of the Institute who works or has previously worked in one of the organizations recognized as indicated in Appendix A and in one of the fields recognized as indicated in Appendix B may apply for exemption from practical training By following the procedures below:
Submission of the online form T-3 to the Training and Placement Directorate of the Institute and a payment for Rs. 2000 / - online with debit or credit card.
Students whose applications are received and found eligible by March 31 will be eligible for the June examination and September 30 will be eligible for the December exams.
A student may apply for exemption from practical training immediately after enrolling in the intermediate course or at any time during the course of studies, subject to the dates indicated in paragraph 3 (ii) if he is eligible.

Minimum stipend for cost management and management (CMA) Trainee

Each trainee must receive the following minimum monthly allowance from the employer:

Accountant in accounting / cost accounting  Rs. 2000 Rs. 3000 Rs. 4000
Organizations                                             Rs. 4,000 Rs. 5,000 Rs. 6,000


The remuneration indicated above is prescribed by the Institute. However, Practicing Cost Accountant / a firm of Accountants / Cost Organizations may set a higher allocation. The allowance under this Regulation shall be paid by the principal to the trainee either by (a) a cross-over. The beneficiary's check each month or (b) depositing the amount each month in an account opened by the trainee in his own name with a branch of the bank to be specified by the principal.



Leave for trainees of cost and management:

A cost trainee is entitled to one day of paid leave per month, excluding normal vacation.
The trainee is entitled to one month's unpaid leave for the emergence of the Institute's examination.
Trainees who use leave beyond the period of leave to which they are entitled must be trained for an additional period equivalent to the excess leave taken by the trainee.
